US troops could withdraw from Afghanistan ahead of 2011 deadline

I guess there are thoughts to begin a withdrawl before Obamas promised July 2011 timeline. Taking into account what has just occurred should Obama up his date or should he postpone it?

  • I think it should be postponed. I'm not pro-war by any means, but there WILL be a backlash from Al Qaeda for this, we all know it.

  • I agree. Retaliation is inevitable.  Be Prepared!

  • I have mixed feelings about Afghanistan. If we are going to pull out now we might as well do it all at once because the Taliban will take it back.

  • It will probably be postponed unless things settle down. I have a cousin in Afghanistan and he said things aren't going great over there.

  • that article was written in March, before we assassinated Osama. I'm sure plans of withdrawal are on hold for now, as they should be. Pulling out now would be disastrous, IMO.

  • I think they should leave (bombing on their way out) and get home and PROTECT us HERE

  • @sweet, you do realize "bombing on their way out" would lead to the unnecessary and gruesome death of innocent children? way to be extreme.

Not so extreme when we were just saying pulling out would put our soldiers in harms way...and BTW..do you care about the amound of innocents that will die if we STAY?? or when we went to Iraq for no apparent reason

  • I think Obama said something about pulling out earlier, didn't he? I could be wrong. I think that is premature. I think all the people thinking things are all good now have let their guards down, and that's not very smart. I think things will heat up, and I think the media should shut the hell up. They shouldn't have carried on like they did, not at all. Showing people dancing around, like it was New Year's Eve? I realize in Afghanistan they don't get coverage like we do here, but it takes ONE crazy to see that shit. And there are crazies here.
Besides, we will most likely always be there. Like Germany and Korea to name a few.
