Recipe help for seasoned crockpot cookers

I have a recipe I want to try, but not sure about one thing. The recipe says the meat and liquid (water and tomato sauce) should go in the morning, then cook for 8 hours on low, then add the veggies (green beans and carrots) and pasta during the last 45 minutes on high. But it doesn't say whether the pasta (wagon wheels) should be cooked or uncooked, and I just haven't used the crockpot very much. Will it get soft enough if I put it in uncooked, or will it get mushy if I boil it beforehand?

  • You would put the pasta in uncooked at the 45 min mark, but if you're worried about it you can always cook the pasta, and add it to your bowl/plate at serving time and top it with the sauce.
