Irish Gaelic "máthair" and Sweden: "moder"

  • German (I'm not but studied it in school): Mutter
    American Sign Language (again just studied): Using your dominant hand splay your fingers comfortably wide. Then with the tip of your thumb tap your chin a couple times.

    Really, I know we have ancestry from lots of different places. DH's family is predominantly of Irish descent (which has been mentioned by PPs). My maiden name came from the French part of my lineage and that's already been mentioned. We're just "white" Americans. Maybe I'll ask my Korean friend how she says mom.
