IUD and periods

So...I heard that most people with an IUD no longer have periods. I've had my IUD since January and I still get periods. Does the periods eventually stop?

  • It depends which one you have. Copper T won't stop them, but Mirena may. My gyno told me less than 20% of women stop menstruating with it though. I've had mine since last June and still get it. It's lighter, but seems longer too
