  • patience.. my daughter was over 2 years old before she started talking. Repeat things to the child, name everything in sight. When you're looking outside talk about what you see. When you hand him something tell him what it is, say 'can you say cup'? Eventually he will start to repeat, and then you work on word building. If he's not talking by 2, call your local birth-3 program and get a speech therapist to come do visits.
