  • Salads
I think it would really depend on the entree, you can do all diff things with the pots and vegies and stuff

  • Rice, cous cous, quinoa, asian cole slaw
we are really into big salads with apples, feta or goat cheese crumbles, almonds, and mint in addition to the regular stuff you put into a salad; even my 6 yr old loves it.

  • I'm not ruling out potatoes and vegtables or noodles, they are just boring alone and need some sprucing up

  • This is our current favorite side dish - just made it yesterday.

    Parmesan Orzo Pilaf

    1 c orzo
    2 tbsp butter
    1 - 14.5 oz can chicken broth
    1/2 c grated parmesan cheese
    salt and pepper to taste

Melt butter over medium-high heat. Add orzo, stir frequently til browned slightly. Add in chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cover. Allow to simmer til liquid is evaporated; about 8-10 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper.

  • What my DF and I have started referring to as "booyah rice"

Brown or white rice made with 2 cubes of beef bullion, 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper, minced onions, and 1/8 tsp cumin. Super easy and doesn't take any special prep. But it's really tasty with just about anything.
