Trouble breathing

Hi everyone. I'll be 26 weeks pregnant on Thursday (May 4th). I've been having trouble breathing since probably about 18 weeks or so. I've been to the doctor, and they gave me an inhaler. It doesn't really help much though. Neither does allergy medicine. Has this happenedto anyone else? Anyone have any suggestions?

  • Well I know what you're going through with difficult breathing.I have asthma and went through 2 pregnancies with an inhaler.Generally as the baby gets bigger there's more pressure on all your organs including the lungs.Maybe Spring allergies are making you feel worse.Try sleeping a little elevated, propped on a couple of pillows and not stressing yourself with too much talking. If there's no medical reason for your breathlessness, then you shouldn't worry. When the baby drops later on in the pregnancy your breathing wil get better.

  • I have had many episodes with this. A couple times I almost passed out. Keep a bottle of water with you and just sit and breathe. That seemed to help me alot. And when I mean breathe I mean like the Yoga breathing deep breaths in and out and slow. Hope this helps a little. I also noticed it would get worse when I am a little warm. I know its hard, im in my 29th week but just try to stay cool. Good Luck!
