Messy art for preschoolers?

I am teaching an OOEY GOOEY messy art class for toddlers/preschoolers. Wondering if anyone had any ideas on messy things to do?

  • moon sand, especially if you get the kit with the wrecking ball.
foot painting (fingerpainting with your feet)
mixing colors (food coloring or tempura paint and mixing primary colors in different containers-not messy for adults, disaster for little ones.
There are great recipes for green slime that is loads of fun with green jello-nothing messier than that!
Also making your own playdough is a two fold mess (add different extracts to make it scented)
Do a Jackson Pollock style painting class
Decorate the room with reams of toilet paper or let the kids wrap each other like mummies

  • Oobleck from the book "Bartholomew and the Oobleck" by Dr. Seuss. (It's cornstarch, water and food coloring.)
