Making brownies for Family Reunion Sunday... at least 37 expected... how many boxes should I buy?

Not expecting EVERYONE to eat one... it's my hubby's mom's family and they're big drinkers... and I can't think of anything less desirable when having a beer than a brownie. Should I buy enough for like 20 people, or go the distance and make sure there's like 40 brownies??

  • I think you should make 5 boxes that would give about 40 brownies,, plus they are always good for later if you have any left, like PP said it would be worse to have not enought.

  • I'd buy a couple of boxes. They aren't expensive and they take hardly any work to make, so yeah, I'd do two boxes...or maybe even three...Brownies are usually the ones people go back for a couple of times.

  • depends do you make the 8x8 fat brownies ot the 8x10 skinny brownies... How many squares do you make with a box... I make the fat ones so I would need 4 boxes to make 30 small brownies.

  • I'd say make around 50. People can always take them home afterwards, I always make a lot when my husband's family come over (BIG family) and I'm always glad of the left overs.

  • I'd make 3 boxes of family size. When I make 1 box they last about 36 hours, but I have two growning boys!
