  • im speechless. 78,000 UE claims in a matter of two weeks!? that is not a good sign for our economy.

  • Our local jobless claims are up due to the tsunami in Japan. We have many factories laying off because of lack of parts from Japan.

  • In a global economy, which is essentially what we have, what happens in one country, affects the other countries that are connected to it financially. As a pp said, due to the tsunami in Japan there is a lack of parts here, one cannot build cars without the proper parts...so that results in lay-offs , etc. here. We should be making parts here, we should be manufacturing a whole lot of things here like we used to do.
