I have been told ...

that you can sough or sneeze to hard and your baby can come out, is this true?? My oma said that she was 4 months along and coughed super hard and her baby came out (dead). Then an old co-worker told me she sneezed at 5 months or so and the baby came out (didn't live obviously) but is that true can it happen??

  • ... no. Your baby is being held in by a full sack of water and an extremely strong muscle- your cervix. In order for that muscle to open big enough to "shoot" a baby out when you cough or sneeze you have to be dilated- which takes contractions and other very obvious warning signs that you are in pre term labor (bleeding, excessive discharge, pressure, needing to have what you think is a BM, etc.).

I had 4 severe upper respiratory infections over the fall/winter between my first and late second trimester. Lots of coughing and sneezing and throwing up were involved. I'm still pregnant and due in 7 days.

  • If that was the case everyone who sneezed or coughed would lose a baby and you would hear about it all the time...................alot of ladies would hold them legs together when sick, thats Crazy
