Anyone know a good website to book hotels? They all advertise and compete but I've never really used one so I didn't know which is best and which is bunk. Thanks!! (We'll be staying in Myrtle Beach, midweek, if that makes a difference)

  • All chain restaurants, Marriott/Hilton have a best rate guarantee which means that you are going to get the best deal on their site guaranteed, the best direct deals will be usually in packages or in promos they send you when you become a rewards member. The exception to this is what they call opaque rates-rates like priceline or that are blended into a package. You really can get some great deals through hotwire and priceline if you aren't overly fussy but they are NON REFUNDABLE and though you will be treated like any other guest you are the last priority in the hotels mind so upgrades, extras are out and if they are going to throw someone in the room with the dubious AC unit it's going to be the Priceline guest. In terms of boutique hotels and smaller brands there are great deals to be found through travelzoo. Watch for the special one day sales on Expedia, and Orbitz.
