Is there any food that you try to get your kids to eat, but you secretly cant stand? Mine is carrots. How i loathe the carrots.

  • Well, my 9 year old has feeding issues. He's been in feeding therapy close to two years. Because he was eating things he didn't like, I branched out and began retrying things I "didn't" like. I couldn't expect him to try new things if I wouldn't. Although you won't catch any liver in my house lol.

  • I am a really picker eater, have been most of my life. But, when my daughter gets older I will have to suck it up, because I want her introduced to a variety of healthy foods :) And if I don't eat them, she probably wont either....

  • My little boy loved black olives. I can't stand them. But, I'd never try to get them to eat something I didn't like. I've always encouraged them to try things and never forced them to eat anything. Sometimes kids are put off by the smell or the look of something, if so I don't make them try it. Now they are almost adults and are very adventurous with their eating, and very slim.

  • There are some things my daughter eats that I loathe (like ranch dressing, yellow mustard and American cheese,) but I don't push them on her.

  • I have to say that it would be hard to get a child to like a food that you hate.

  • Nope, I don't purchase stuff that I or my husband don't enjoy ourselves (stuff we've had and didn't care for). None of my kids are picky, and if I ask them to please try something new, they will. If they don't like, they don't like, and I won't make it for them anymore.

Unfortunately, we do have one with tons of food allergies, so we have to be extremely cautious in introducing something totally brand new.
