Hi everyone! My 7 1/2 month old started solids a few weeks ago and loved them...couldn't get enough, until suddenly in the last few days she really doesn't seem interested at all. She is still drinking her formula and has a few bites of solids each day but the days of her eating a jar or even a jar and a half suddenly stopped. Is she teething? Is she just becoming picky? Any advice/tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

  • She was probably having a growth spurt, i wouldn't worry about it too much as long as she is still getting her milk

  • are you giving her a variety of tastes, textures, etc? maybe she is just tired of the same thing if you're not changing it up every now and again. and i would just not give the jar food....that's for smaller babies. there are lots of finger foods that are appropriate for that age.

•, ok.....not with my experience, and not according to my ped. and research. what do you feed a 71/2 month old baby??

  • baby food..not finger foods.....this baby is just starting to eat solids you dont give them finger foods first when they start..i donno what people are telling you, but if you give a 7 month old finger foods that is just starting to eat solids 9 chance outta 10 he/she is gonna choke...and i am sure 99% of mom's out there will back me up on this!

  • You CAN indeed give finger foods to a seven month old baby. Google BABY LED SOLIDS and you'll see what sorts of things you can give a baby. Purees are NOT needed. Indeed, a baby who can only eat purees probably needs to wait a bit. Baby misses NOTHING by not getting solids. The liquid diet of formula or breastmilk is FAR more important all the way to the first birthday.
