Would you buy and drive an electric car if it only went 50 mph and could only go 50 miles before a recharge?

  • The only going 50 miles before needing to be charged wouldn't be a problem for me, really. I don't do a whole lot of driving, so that would work for me.

But only being able to go 50 mph would bug the heck out of me. Aside from the fact that I hate being the slow one that holds up traffic, it's dangerous and frankly, annoying to me when I want to get somewhere.

If they bumped up the speed, I'd go for it. Otherwise, nope.

  • I wouldnt. However I have a friend who just did -- he gets like 90 mpg and the car charges itself as he drives around town (he is a salesperson). I dont like the way they look, but he LOVES his!

  • FU@& NO! I can't stand moving any less than 10 miles over the speed limit. That would be so dangerous:(
