Knotted on my knitting

Ok so I just finished knitting myself a beautiful grocery bag. I understood the pattern and knitted everything exactly. But when I was finished, the opening is small! It's not supposed to be so does anyone have a fix? please

This is the tote I made:

  • I think there might be a knitting group where you can ask also. Look under green groups tab. GL

  •   it looks like the problem may be in the pattern. When you sew the sides together, rather than starting at the top, and closing the entire sides; I would begin a little less than a quarter of the way down. This way, you will have a larger opening. You can probably remove the crocheted side seams pretty easily starting from the bottom (leaving your handles untouched). After redoing them, leaving the wider opening for the top, you can strengthen the unsewn upper sides with a crocheted slip stitch. Hope this helps.  :-)

  • Yep, you can. You just don't recognize it. :-)

The stitch you used to join the sides is a slip stitch.
