Are Hands Weapons?

If you're an experienced boxer or martial arts expert, are your hands considered weapons? Do these experts have to register their hands with the state?

  • Yup...my brother is some kind of ridiculously high level of Tae-Kwon-Do and he has to register his hands as weapons...it's kind of awesome when you think about it...well unless he gets in a bar fight or something...he would be charged with assault with a deadly weapon! lol

  • I have a friend who has to register his hands as weapons because of the amount of force he hits with.... so yes, depending on your state and the state laws, your hands can be considered weapons.

  • No. A weapon is an object that is used to harm people. So, they wouldnt be considered weapons because they are body parts.

  • I don't know if they have to be registered with the State, however, if you think about it, anything can be a weapon. You can use your hands to hurt or kill a person, and if / when you did it, then yes, they would be used as weapons.

For example - someone who was beaten to death. Cause of death - blunt trauma. Weapon used - fist.....
