Service Animals?

Both of my girls have been educationally diagnosed with Autism Spectrum, and will soon be medically diagnosed with Autism. I am trying to find a way that we can possibly get our two kittens serviceable, as the kittens have actually been viewed as able to get my children out of their violent temper tantrums. Does anyone have any experience on getting cats serviceable?

  • It something to discuss with your therapist or psychiatrist. I think they are referred to "comfort animals"

  • Well as a service animals they cannot be trained, but they can be prescribed by a shrink and allowed in your apartment etc. even if they have a no pets policy. I don't think they can be brought into stores and the such though.

  • I'm not sure if they train cats for that purpose. But you might want to check into a small dog for a service animal.
