Any Mamas out there 'Poo free?

I am seriously considering going shampoo free after all the great things i've heard. Any other mamas do this and if so, what do you use?

  • I was just reading up on this. I'm not completely shampoo free but I only wash my hair maybe 3 days a week and I can usually completely skip the shampoo on one of those days. I'm at the point where I'll be making my own shampoo, just found a recipe that is easy and should suit my hair needs fine ... basically soap, olive oil, some essential oil, and chamomile tea.

  • I make my own and that's the closest I'll get to this concept!

  • Everything I find, people use a little baking soda in water massaged into roots and rinsed then apple cider vinegar to condition with. Also, there are adjustments you can make to tailor it to you as you find what works. Just google, shampoo free. There are loads of people swearing by it and tips on how to do it.

  • Isn't it hard to get baking soda out of your hair? Its grainy. Wouldn't your hair foam up with the acid and base coming together?

  • I did for about four months. I loved my hair but there was a lot of build up. I found I have better hair if I use a natural shampoo & conditioner. Kogi works wonders. I still have the manageable/healthy hair without all the buildup and heavyness. http://www.koginaturals.com/shop/skin-care/hair-rosemarymint-pair.html

  • You can find sulfite free shampoo, Id try that first. The vinegar can be really drying to hair.
