What to eat before 5k?

MyDD and me are doing 5k tomorrow.this is our first time.So i need suggestion for food before the race.

  • I've never done what but I think I've heard to eat carbs for energy. Good luck- I hoping to complete a 5K this year too!!

  • With a 5k, you really don't need to do anything different than what you normally do. You really don't need extra emphasis on carbs (pb sandwich, oatmeal etc) with a little protein and fat is proper. BUT don't eat anything new...never try something new on race day - you never know how it'll affect you when putting forth a race effort. Nothing sucks more than having stomach issues while trying to run a race!! Good luck!! 5k's are SO much fun!

  • Carbs the night before, and bananas for potassium the day off with plenty of water... I ran cross country in high school. Thats what my routine was before a race.

  • Good luck with the 5k! I just had Kashi Go Lean cereal and my latte before ky 10k this morning, and I beat my goal time! I also left plenty of time for settling in between.
