How long should kids be able to play video games?

  • I think it depends on the game. My daughters will play on and will play Elmo on the Wii, but they are word building/phonics games that have some educational value. Their other favorite is Chuck E. Cheese on the Wii, which still teaches some math, budgeting, decision making, sequencing, and is physical.

    If they can learn something from the game, I wouldn't be as strict on the limits as I would be with "war" or "zombie" games.

  • i agree with the answer above if its educational im not so strict. but if its just entertainment its not good to be on more then 2 hours tops according to the doctors talk show

  • Our rule is that all computer and video games are limited to 2 hours on Saturday. Beyond that, we would prefer them play with other children or outside.
