    It should be "Lying down"
"Is it bad to LIE on your back/...."
In this case the word is LIE.
USe LAY when talking about laying something down. Laying carpet. Lay the book on the table. Read my link.

YES-they say you should LIE on your side.

  • @minnesotanice...seriously? You are being so childish. You do know you can SKIP THE QUESTION right?.

I find it uncomfortable to lie on my back. But I think its better for the baby if you lie on your side.

  • Brandi...I like the question.
I just cringe when I see EVERYONE use LAY instead of LIE. Get it?
I was an English major---I can't help it.

ANd that was nice, wifey.....you are welcome.

  • But it isn't your place to correct her. She is not your student. If she wanted someone to tell her how they think she should write or say something then that would have been her question.

  • Yeah, LIE on your back or side. I know you shouldn't but sometimes I would LIE on my stomach as well. Do whatever you can do to get comfortable!

  • on your left side is best. There is a nerve or vein or something that makes laying on your back slow blood flow to the baby
