If a child's grade is a 70 in 2 subjects will they fail? (elementary)

  • It depends is that 70 is a C or a D. Even with a "D" they may let the child go on, but it all depends on the parent, school, and student. Honestly if 70 was consider a "D" in my local school then I would question if I would let them move on. Schools, especially, work primary on mastery based. They are banking on you to do well the year before to be able to do well the following year. If they are struggling now the struggles are going to get "worst" unless they get the extra help they need.

  • As long as my child did his best I am okay with that. No, I don't think the child will fail with 70. But it might not be a C. In one local area public school around me a 70 average is a D. Which threw me given I always see it as a C.
