Need ideas of something fun to see in Nashville.

We have saved for yrs and are finally taking our 16 yr old dtr to Florida to see the ocean! It will just be us, her, and her best girlfriend. My dtr is a country music fan (even tho her bf isn't) and we thought TN is about a half way pt for us, but don't really know a good place to stay or what would be fun to see. Any ideas?

  • You simply must spend a night at the Opryland hotel - they have the most amazing greenhouses, a dancing waters fountain, and wonderful restaurants and shops. They are also close to many of the Nashville attractions.

  • You could check out the Grand Ole Opry...walk around downtown, lots of cute shops/restaurants.

Elvis related stuff is in Memphis(which is a hole). Graceland was kind of a disappointment, and I wouldn't make it a side trip...unless you happen to be headed that way.

  • I just re-read, and you are going to FL. So Memphis isn't on the way...

  • I would have to say the Grand Old Opry and Opryland Hotel (beautiful). OpryMills is a giant shopping center with neat restaruants and things to do beside shop! Nashville Zoo at Grassmere is really nice and interesting. There is always the downtown area with Riverfront Park, River boat rides there and lots of the old hangouts of the Country stars like Tootsies Lounge. Just nice to walk and look. I live in AL but grew up not far from Nashville and enjoy visiting every now and again! Maybe this will help you too. http://www.10best.com/Nashville,TN/Voted_Best_of_the_City/Attractions_&_Activities/

  • We stayed downtown on a whim for under $100 at the Hilton. We were within walking distance of a lot! We loved the House of Blues and the next day we went to the Country Music Hall of Fame which was really interesting and not all that expensive.

    Hope you have fun!
