Can i put a bamboo cutting board in the oven?

im making pizza dough (from the scratch) and dont have any pizza pan. so i have a bamboo wood cutting board.. i was wondering if i could put it in the oven to bake the bread? temp. will be around 350 F .. will it burn the wood board ?

  • I wouldn't do it. I am sure it is burnable.

    Do the cookie sheet.

    You can also grease a glass casserole, and press the dough along the bottom. It cooks just like a pan pizza.

  • Please don't do that!

    You can make mini-deep dish pizzas in 9" cake pans.

    Or a large Sicilian in a casserole dish.

    You can make a rectangular thin crust on a cookie sheet (par bake it a few minutes - but not long enough to brown - before putting on toppings, and add sauce over toppings to keep it crispy).

    You can make a calzone instead, and put the folded-over crescent on a cookie sheet to bake.

    But you don't want a smoked pizza and ruined bamboo board :-(

  • I wouldn't do it myself. It's not so much that it will burn. It's more the fact it will dry it out and cause splitting. I would use foil with holes poked in it instead.
