Do people realize the Kenndys are not actually a royal family?

Not understanding why a Kennedy separation(not even a divorce yet) is warranting as much news coverage as the Royal Wedding. And lets not even go into WHY the royal wedding gets so much coverage here to begin with.

  • I would think that if the last name Kennedy were attached, marital problems would have been assumed at day one.

  • I never did understand that fascination that some people have with that family. I think as a family, they have endured an untypical amount of tragedy but that's pretty much the extent of my interest in their family. I am using the term 'interest' very loose. I suppose I have done a good job of staying away from the news the last couple of days since I haven't heard anything about a separation.

  • Never-mind. A quick scroll down the screen told me who it was and gosh darn, I still don't care. I find it odd that they feel compelled to release statements saying how they plan to parent their children. Who cares?

  • They are an iconic American family. An American success. They are also attractive. They have the double Whammy. Americans are obsessed with wealth, good looks, and scandal. They meet all the criteria

  • I dont get it either. My mil is one of those people who thinks the whole Kennedy time period was so great. I remember when Kerry was running she said having him in office with his kids would be like having the Kennedy's there. I busted out laughing lol. I just believe some people have this ideal and they look at that time period and for some reason associate it with that family. In reality, that time period really was not all that great. They arent royalty. They are as dysfunctional as the rest of us.

I have never thought the Kennedy men or women were all that attractive. Money and power might be what people find attractive about them.
