How do you cope with a child that is so competitive in sports?

It makes me angry and there for not enjoyable.
What can I do?

  • Oh, sorry. All u can do is stress that they have fun and not take it too seriously. My daughter was like that too. Now I have to tell her to go in for the kill if she wants to make the team!

  • Is it your kid? Because I'm thinking that can be good, especially for scholarships.....

  • Yes it is my kid, and there will be no scholarships. Just angry tears, resentfulness, jealousy, hard feelings, exchanging of words, stress, high blood pressure. Sore winner and sore loser.

  • I've tried to stress that it is only for fun and exercise, not to get all uptight about it. There is always a winner and a loser. But it never fails, the pouty face is what I get to see after the game. I'm so tired of it! What else can I do?
