"The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) passed a historic measure Tuesday evening allowing openly gay men and women in same-sex relationships to be ordained as clergy."

  • Finally some people are coming around. There's a part of me that knows that eventually gays will have equal rights in all areas, but it sure seems like it's taking us all a long time to get there. It's nice to see some progress.

  • One my old professors posted this (or the same story from NPR) on FB this morning. That's actually the denomination I was in as a child, and some of my family still attend their churches. Good to see they are continuing to take steps to be inclusive. I believe some churches within the Presbyterian Church USA were already accepting LGBT people as clergy, but I believe there's been a lot of debate about it over a long time now. I do wonder if there will be splits in some churches over differences of opinion, but so glad to hear the vote went in a positive direction. :-)
