Toning shoes Fun? or Painful?

I know that Toning shoes don't really do much more then regular walking shoes...that said..they look like a ton of fun!, so are they?
or do they make your feet and butt hurt after using? are there better brands of "rocking" shoes to look for? I'm thinking of getting a pair, they look like a blast, + I could use a reason to get out and walk more.
But I don't want to spend for them if they hurt, or are not as enjoyable as they look. So ladies who have them....FUN? or NOT?

  • curious, too..they look uncomfortable, like a clog...and they kinda remind me of SAS (old people/nursing shoes).

  • In my opinion no. I have a bad knee and it only made things worse. The way the back of some of them are causes me to fall backwards because the way it rounds in the back and there is no flat support.

  • Mine definately don't hurt at all. As long as they are in your correct size they feel very comfortable. Some people swear by wearing them above all other shoes. To me they are equal to some other good tennis shoes I own. I wear them to work, but I am not on my feet all day. I like the Sketcher brand myself. I don't know if they have toned up my legs any more than they were... but I figured it couldn't hurt.

  • I thought I was going to fall over when I tried a pair on, lol

  • I have the Payless Rocker-type. Not expensive, and I love them! I wear them every day, just for errands, and they have increased my calf muscles .. . which is one of my hardest groups to get to, and my butt has gotten toned . . . :)

They are super-comfy, but you do have to be careful because it is easy to fall in them.

Now, if only they could just make a tummy-toning shoe, I'd be set! Damn tummy! LOL!

  • I also have the Payless Rockers. At first I thought they felt like they were doing something, but I really don't think they do much of anything. They are just as comfortable as regular tennis shoes.

  • I'm looking at buying a pair of the payless ones...I'm not worried about falling over, heh. I have great balance.
I do walk, and workout (mostly yoga, and flexibility stuff), I just thought that they looked like fun, (they look like you cant ever stand still on them, and constantly have to be moving). Ive read some great reviews on the Payless brand saying that they help get rid of pain too.But..., Are they fun?
