Did you know the DREAM Act is back? It was reintroduced yesterday on the congressional floor.

One of our local newstations ran a positive piece on the portion of the act that would provide college educational assistance to illegals.

 What are your thoughts?

  • BECOME LEGAL AND THEN COME TO ME TO ASK FOR MY TAX MONEY. IF YOU'RE ILLEGAL, YOU CAN'T VOTE, YOU CAN'T DRIVE, AND YOU SHOULDN'T BE ABLE TO REAP THE SAME BENEFITS THAT MY LEGAL CHILDREN HAVE. How would you feel if someone was given a grant over your LEGAL child simply b/c that person wasn't here legally? Terrible. Another way for OUR money to be wasted.

  • I think illegals should go home. or make themselves legal. Maybe if all these people who enter this country illegally got together they could make a difference in their own country,.

  • I think anything that encourages what essentially amounts to slavery - the employment of illegals with substandard working conditions, pay and safety - is a bad idea. It's just more incentive for people to come and try to get their kids into the system. Never will understand why so many people who claim they are about human rights and decency fall all over themselves to aid and abet the exploitation of illegal labor and pretend it's because they care instead of wanting cheaper lettuce.

  • With all the struggling families in this country this is a terrible idea. We have a government agency with well over 20,000 employees (ICE) dedicated to keeping illegals out of the country now we are offering educational assistance and want them in the military ...ugh...Mr. President what are you thinking???

  • Scholarships for illegals? No.

  • I know many US citizens here in GA that are going to college, or went to college for next to nothing, thanks to the government. The dream act is not new & has never made it harder for our US citizens to get grants for college.

They just cut the levels for financial aid across the board earlier this year. There is less money to go around, period. Doing this will stretch even less money between even more people. That's basic math. Nevermind the fact that tuition has gone up at every school in the country due to their increased overhead and a reduction of funding on the back end as well.

  • I think they should make themselves legal and then come talk to me.

  • I think in doing so they will make a lot of our own newly adult citizens ineligible for assistance and that will be a real shame. Why have we taken to giving things to foreigners when we neglect to take care of our own legal citizens? It's a shame.

  • illegal college students don't get any money until every legal citizen in the country who wants to go to college is in college.
    when that happens, lemme know.
Until hell with the dream act.
