Would you turn down your dream job if your spouse nixed the idea?

  • I probably would have answered this differently 15 years ago. I would have said No, certainly not. However, at this stage in my life I would say Yes, I would. To me, and this has only come with age, my family is more important than any job could ever be.

  • He and I are on the same page with things..he wants me to do whatever I need to do to be happy..if he told me no about a job offer there would have to be good reason behind it and I trust his opinion.

  • no, because I don't understand why he would say no. We would talk about it, but in the end we would have to figure out how to make him okay with it. But I am a working mom anyway, so he would be fine w/whatever makes me happy and supports our family

  • Well, my idea of a dream job has evolved over time. What would have appealed to me in my twenties or even 5 years ago is now very different because of my toddler, DH, and other obligations. Many more factors would come into play before I would consider it. DH's idea of a dreamjob too, would probably be different as well. My dream job, in essence, would be something both DH and I would feel comfortable with.
