Changing eye color...

Does anyone know the usual age a baby's eyes change color? My son is 7 months old and still has his big baby blues, but my husband and eye both have brown eyes, so odds are they will change. It might be nice if they do change since people keep asking what color eyes the mailman has!!! Just curious to know if they will be changing any time soon?

  • if they are a light blue, that's what they're gonna stay most likely.

eyes that are gonna turn dark or brown get darker over time, not lighter.

hubby and I both have brown eyes, our son has blue eyes. genetics...go figure.

  • I had brown eyes untill I was 13 years old ( and i mean solid, dark brown) and then they began to turn green, now, sometimes they're green and sometimes they're brown and sometimes a little bit of both and I am the only one in the family (on both sides) with green eyes. So my point is, I have absolutely no clue when a childs eyecolor is supossed to change. Good luck :)

  • I only had one whose eyes changed colors. He came out with slate blue colored eyes and by the time he was 8-9 months they were brown.

  • Usually whatever they are by 6 months is pretty much permanent, give or take a shade or two. I agree though, it they are light blue odds are they will stay that way, especially at 7 months. If they are going to change they are usually darker to begin with, my first sons eyes were this insane purple color for the first 3 months then they started to turn.

  • I've read that they can change anywhere from a few months old until 2-3 years old. Check out this website. It's kind of fun....

  • They might stay blue. Based on genetics he has a 25% chance of blue eyes if both of your genes are Bb (bb is blue) BB and Bb are brown.
