  • I see no need to have my stuff on the server for all eternity basically forgotten about once its more than a day or 2 old.

Open or closed, they're still there and searchable forever. I don't close them, unless someone takes it completely out of scope with hijacking to the point it becomes offensive or abusive. Once in a while if I'm bored I'll go through and do best answers on old ones. I'm not asking them to see who can give the best point-earning answer, and I'm not asking how to get stains out of the couch.

  • If I have an active question I'll leave it up for a while, slow questions I'll leave up for about a day.
Then there is the drama. I posted what should have been a cute question the other day and someone came in and turned it into me being a bad parent and my daughter being 'odd' so I closed it after a couple of hours.

  • I've seen two years old questions which haven't been closed/choosing best answer. I think that some moms don't know or don't take the time to use cafemom "tools". In my case I don't let a questiona all alone for more than a week.

  • I close them occasionally but I leave lots open. At first I didn't know. Now I don't think there's any harm in them remaining open.

  • How long does etiquette say they should stay open for? I'm still fairly new.

  • personally I close em when they fizzle out or if they get hijacked and turned into an argument. I see no need to have my stuff on the server for all eternity basically forgotten about once its more than a day or 2 old.
