Area rug out for summer?

I have hardwood floors thruout. My living room is 16x20. I have a 14X16 area rug in the living room. Should I take it out for the summer??? I just want to try to make it look idk .... different?

  • I have all hardwood floors too. I have more than one set of rugs so I can change them out when I get "bored" or tired of looking at the same thing. Maybe look into another rug? You can switch them out. Believe me taking it out is a pain because then you are sweeping and mopping constantly. I have kids who are in and out during the summer and it makes it even harder to keep dirt off the floor because even with trying hard to keep their shoes off when they come in they track in dust and dirt.

  • Give it a shot. I think it will change the look. Better yet, buy a bright new rug if you can afford it.

  • Try it, but I bet you'll miss it. I hate the feeling of anything on my floor, so even a little dirt would drive me crazy and you can't feel all that stuff when you have a rug down.
