Freaking out! Cat paws help!

My cat has been declawed since she was a kitten, she's now almost 3. Sitting in my lap now I was petting her feet and noticed her little pink pads on her toes are cracked?!?!?!?!?!?!?! How could this have happened? What do I do?

  • Ask her vet. It may just be dry skin from the winter

  • Are they bleeding? It happens with the weather and age, an outside cat would have huge callouses on their toes so you never notice. But, with indoor kitties there toes stay soft so they dry and crack easier. If they're just dry looking they will be fine, but if they are open and bleeding or have sores on them take them to the vet.
