Please explain this to me?

If Obama's HC bill is so wonderful, why 204 new waivers were just issued bringing the total up to 1,372? Why are they even needed?

  • Good question - I never thought it was wonderful, but I am curious to see what the supporters of it have to say.

  • What are the waivers? His proposal says if you can do the same thing your way you are welcome to do it. What were the waivers issued for?

  • Now that gerpie has figured out what the word means, perhaps she can explain why something that's supposed to be in the best interest of everyone has had to issue over 200 of them.

  • It's simple Carpy. Right now, those who can afford the better insurance/care pay for it.

Under Obamacare, those who can afford to buy their way out of the crappy care pay for it.

Either way, you still get what you pay for.

  • If you can meet or exceed the requirements of the Obama plan, you Can get a waiver, which does allow you to be on your own, either way they are  meeting or exceeding the minimum requirements.

Actually, it is because meeting the minimum requirements would be to financially hard on the companies and states.

  • minnasotaNOTsonice: she didn't ask what waiver meant. She asked why they were needed if Obamacare is so great. Why aren't people flocking to it instead of running from it. I think we all know what a waiver is. I voted you down because your answer was not helpful - at all.

Based on what we know, we're pretty sure if you drink this corrosive acid, you will vomit blood and the skin will peel from inside your mouth before you die, but you haven't consumed it yet. Why don't we wait until after you drink it to see?

Get the problem with that line of reasoning? We have examples ad nauseum of things in that law that will not work, things that will make things worse for people rather than better, and things that will funnel more money to special interests and away from people who need them. Do you really care that much to see if the skin peels, too?
