Is any one familiar with washing seeds in mild detergent solution?

I'm a newbie to growing spinach and have never seen directions like this, and don't know what kind of soap to use. What is considered mild?

The seed pack is America's Select brand. The instruction say:
Before sowing, wash seeds in a mild detergent solution; rinse and soak in water for 24 hours.

  • From an online post........."Wash seeds in a mild detergent before planting (1 drop detergent for each cup of water). Rinse and soak in clear water for 24 hours". Your regular dish liquid should be fine because it is such a small amount. Make sure you rinse after. GL!
