Can I be having Braxton Hicks after an unusually heavy period ?

I'm 48 and pre-menopausal. My period has lasted a week and a half, with an average blood loss of 80 ml a day. Any thoughts? I'm sorry to mislead you, but there was no category for menopause. Is there a better site for my query?

  • Maybe you should post in Health? I think if you changed the title of your question and posted in Health you will probably get better responses =) Good luck mama

  • I don't think you're having braxton hicks unless you're pregnant....sounds like you're just cramping really bad.

  • I have to agree with the other ladies...Braxton Hicks and Pregnancy go hand in hand, no one without the other...if your having your period your not pregnant, Braxton Hicks...just bad cramps or something

  • It happens on occasion that you get an unusually heavy period towards the end. If it's just this one time I wouldn't worry. However if it continues past two weeks check with your Ob/GYN. Just to be sure.
