Whats a good waist-linme friendly snack that I could make in a snap!?

I make good somewhat healthy meals fo rmy family but we snack like maniacs! Lol. I need some healthy snacks that will be satisfying but healthy! PLZ! :)

  • Carrot sticks/baby carrots, celery, cucumber slices, peppers etc, presliced in a container

  • lettuce, black beans (2 tbs) and 1/2 cup salsa.... only 60 calories and the black beans are SUPER filling! Throw on some crushed tortilla chips if you really want. It's almost a whole meal for me :) That plus a yogurt and I'm good to go!

  • To go with those vegetables make a dip. Hidden Valley makes dip mixes and I use fat free sour cream to go with. I make them for dh's lunches.

  • pickles. no calories, you just have to keep an eye on the sodium. apple slices with peanut butter or yogurt, granola, pretty much any fresh fruit, my personal favorite is strawberries with cream cheese.

  • Creamy Fruit Dip

    1 package (8 ounces) fat-free cream cheese
    3/4 cup packed brown sugar
    1 cup (8 ounces) reduced-fat sour cream
    2 teaspoons vanilla extract
    1 teaspoon lemon extract
    1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    1 cup cold 2% milk
    1 package (3.4 ounces) instant vanilla pudding mix
    Assorted fresh fruit

    In a small mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the sour cream, extracts and cinnamon until smooth. Add milk; mix well. Add pudding mix; beat on low speed for 2 minutes. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Serve with fruit.

  • Best Hummus Recipe

    Servings: 6

    INGREDIENTS

    5 medium garlic gloves, mashed
    1-1/2 teaspoons salt
    2 cans of garbanzo beans, drained
    2/3 cup tahini, stirred
    1/3 cup lemon juice, freshly squeezed
    1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
    1/3 cup Italian parsely leaves
    3 tablespoons pine nuts, toasted
    paprika

    DIRECTIONS:

    1. On a cutting board, mash garlic and salt together with the flat side of a butcher's knife.
    2. In the bowl of the food processor, combine parsley
    3. In the bowl of the food processor, combine garlic paste, tahini, lemon juice, olive oil, and 1/2 cup water. Pulse until well combined.
    4. Transfer Hummus into a serving dish, drizzle with parsely oil, and sprinkle with paprika.
    5. Serve with small bits of pita and fresh veggies.
