  • Goya.com has a few really good recipes...I use the arroz con gandules recipe a lot...well it's similar to the recipe I use I should say...I think maybe my gramma got her recipe off the can...

  • Hopefully you use a rice cooker like I do but this works on the stove as well.
    What you'll need:
    rice (duh)
Goya Sazon (can be found in the international aisle or spanish food aisle-Google Goya Sazon) 1 packet for 4 servings
Minced garlic or garlic powder (2 cloves or 2 tsp.)
    salt (to taste)
finely chopped cilantro about 3 tbs.
Goya Sofrito (comes in a glass jar or frozen-google that too) about 3 tbs.
    2 tbs. Olive oil
1 can Goya Pink beans (canned) OR if you like starchy food canned corn, the corn gets real sweet when cooked this way
Mix it all together and cook the rice as you would normally, you can add more flavor to your liking but this is a basic Puerto Rican recipe.

  • I make mine with green chili and cumin. I am not a fan of tomato based spanish rice recipes.

I use ground beef, onion, garlic, cumin, green chili, a can of black beans and brown rice. Super YUM!
