Not the typical "am i pregnant question"

i had a m/c in march. got my period april 13. around may 3 of this month i had some brown discharge and just a tiny of little bit of pink one day. the brown d/c was very lvery light and lasted about 3 days. so i just thought it was my period a few days early. this morning i have sore breasts and thought wth and i took a pregnancy test. it came up positive. the line wasnt as dark as the control line but was definetly a line!!! so could this test be a mistake? is there another way i could get a false positive pregnancy test? i thought maybe hormones could still be goofed up from miscarriage. any thoughts?

  • sounds like a positive, take a second test or get blood work done asap so you can be sure and get the care you need (should this be high risk after MC)

  • If you were advanced in the pregnancy you lost it can take up to 6 weeks for your hormone levels to return to normal. But if it's been more than 6 weeks or if it was a very early miscarriage (before 7 weeks or so), then it is very likely a positive test. If the lines get darker if you test again then it's definitely a positive. Good luck!

  • A friend of mine had a miscarriage about a year ago. She is now 5 months pregnant but when she first started trying again she had SEVERAL false positives. It may have something to do with your hormones from you miscarriage, but you should definetely go to the doctor to be sure.
