Because It's Never Too Young to Start Hating Your Body- Skechers Shape Ups

I found the petition to have this removed. It's sending a very bad message to our daughters. Had it been advertised all along as a health and fitness shoe and not a sexy tone your a** and thigh shoe with Kim Kardashian half naked ad campaign, that would be one thing... but it was not.

Now it's clearly sending a "you can never be satisfied with your body message" to our children. Obviously, there are no little boy shoes. Sigh....

Anyway, if you wish to sign the petition, here it is: Women's Rights Petition for Skechers

  • I think the better thing would be just not to buy them. If no one buys them they will come off the shelves quickly enough.

  • I was so dumbfounded when I saw them pushing them on children. Then I shook my head when I realized this was the new norm for companies. I will sign the petition. Thank you.

  • oh boy..nothing hits a company like their pocketbook. just don't buy the product. (besides, i've heard they are more uncomfortable than useful.)
can i add..how is this any different than clothing for 'young girls (4-12)' modeled after jr sizes or misses? its not. wrong product for you or your daughter, don't buy it. simple.

  • Girls won't think they are for sexy butt and thighs. Girls will want exercise shoes that help get them fit. It's far different than a push up bra geared for little ones...that serves no purpose. Toning shoes encourage getting fit and exercising.

  • Sorry but SOME of these kids today need all the exercise they can get. 10 year-olds weighing in at 170 isn't healthy.. if some damn shoe will help them lose weight I am all for it. like all things YES these shoes can be abused for the never happy with my child pageant moms to buy their already thin and beautiful daughters.

If they made a different ad would you still be against them?

  • No I dont have a problem with promoting my daughter being healthy and toning her muscles. If you think there is something sexy about a toned child then I am guessing I am not the one with a problem.
