1 Bump

Almost 1 yr old, and not progessing any.

Hi everyone,

I have a daughter turning 1 this weekend, and she has not really progressed at all in the last few months. She can crawl pretty good, but cannot pull herself up to sit, she can't stand up at all, not even holding onto furniture. When should I be worried about it? I know every baby has their own timeline, but I feel like she is way too behind. Am I freaking out about nothing?

  • My girls did not walk until 15m, 16m and 18m. The one that did not walk until 18m was delayed in EVERY physical milestone. She is now 5 and other than being slow on her bicycle she is on track. My son walked at 10m.

  • I think you have valid concerns, I would make an appointment with the doctor, it is probably nothing, but I think you should go in and see what the doctor says,,how is she with talking, interacting wtih you and things like that?

  • She says dada and baba and some L sounds, no mama yet lol. She laughs alot and makes funny noises, but it interested in any toys that for her age group, she likes mostly rattles and teething toys, which is another concern of mine.

  • I will, we have an appointment in 2 weeks. I just keep concerned because my other daughter walked at 10 months, so I can help but compare even though i shouldn't.

  • Has the doctor expressed any concern at previous appointments? 2 weeks isn't too far off, so discuss it with the doctor at that time. Personally, I wouldn't be worried at this point, but since you are, it won't hurt to discuss it with the doc.

  • average is 12-15 months, not 16-18months.... And I wouldnt start worrying yet till closer to 15 months, She may just be happy with crawling.

  • I would bring up these concerns with your doctor. Also, the "average" child doesn't walk until 16-18 months. I've known a couple kids that weren't walking until then and suddenly, nearly overnight, they learned to run.
