Has anyone experienced this before? major tmi warning. BR/W.C. issue adult content

i have never experienced this before.
i am on metformin for my glucose intolerence (i have pcos) and my friend's mom is on the same but for diabetes. she said if you dont drink enough water metformin can mess up your kidneys.
a few days later i thought i was getting a uti so i started super loading cranberry and water and then i felt alot better no uti at all.
but i had a bunch of diarrhea for a couple days, and then it went to constipation for a few more days and then its diarrhea again. like wtf this never happened before. why wont my bowels make up their mind? has any body ever gotten stuff like this.
is something wrong with my kidneys? i drink a lot of water so im hydrated properly.
sorry for the long rant.

  • Try to go on a blan diet for a few days to see if that gets you regular again. Most people will change the way they are eating because they start having odd BM's but changing it every time wont help...but go with a blan diet and then slowly change it up from there. If you had an overload of cranberry juice that can cause you to get far as going back to constipated after that could be because you lost so much water durring the past few days your body was trying to prevent that....if this continues for a fdew more days i would go see your doc. How long have you been on your medication? if you just started it not to long ago then your body could just be trying to get used to it. Good luck

  • More than likely the cranberry juice messed you up a bit. I'd do the BRAT diet...Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, and Toast...for a couple of days.

  • Could be irritable bowel syndrome. Those are the biggest symptoms and you could have triggered it with the cranberry juice. Stay away from acidic juices, fruit and sauces (like tomato) and see if it subsides.
