Political Compass Continued (updated 5/17 3:30 pm est) + link to play with the data on your own

Started this over the weekend, but a lot of people are here only during the week, so restarting for those who didn't see it. (Old question is here.)

For those interested in being added to the chart, take the test and post your numbers.  A few things about how the chart reads:

"Libertarian" does not mean United States Libertarian Party.  This is an international test, using "libertarian" simply as an adjective for socially liberal, as opposed to "authoritarian", which means socially conservative.  Same for the Left and Right labels - that axis refers to fiscally liberal or conservative.  If you explore some of the other pre-made charts at the site where the test is, you'll see none of the US parties really fall out of the upper right quadrant, no matter what they are labeled.

The dots for Obama and McCain are based on their general election 2008 campaigns.  During the primaries, they were both a little more down and to the left, but moved up and right after securing their party nominations.  They were never anywhere but the upper right quadrant at any time.

Take the test here:

If you post your chart instead of your numbers, I can still add you, but your placement will be far more accurate if you include your actual numbers.

Our chart so far (will update any new replies after I get home):

This is getting really crowded.  With each new update (starting with this one), I'm including a link to the page that makes the chart.  If you want to look at it in more detail, you can uncheck certain names and remove them, then go back to the page to see them all back and remove different ones.

  • I will add, there were quite a few questions I didn't agree or disagree with completely, wish there had been a neutral answer.
