  • I dont bribe. I do reward though and pay them. My kids get paid for good grades, awards at school and after school, and if I ask them to do a chore they get paid for that too. It works for my family.

  • My Mom used to bribe my dad with money so he would take my younger sister out of the house. I always thought it was stupid and didn't show or teach anyone anything. Chores, special projects or something like that where they actually "earn" their money like a real life job sure but to hush up or just leave me alone.. never

  • I would never do it! If my kids do things with out being asked they MIGHT get a reward but I would never give them money for me forcing them to do something

  • Bribing with $$ sets a dangerous (and expensive) precedent. Slippery slope man ... slippery slope.

  • My kids to get an allowance every week, but how much they earn depends on how many and what chores they did. Each chore has a set amount ($.75 for taking the trash out, etc), and they don't earn it if I have to ask them. But bribes so they won't tell you, that could be dangerous.

  • I have some younger relatives that still won't do a favor without opening their hand for cash because that was how they were raised. Earning money doing chores is one thing, but bribing kids to do what they already should is quite another thing.

  • I think it is HORRIFIC parenting and will back fire on you... and give this world just another bratty adult with a "I deserve" attitude.
