Have you ever noticed when you search for a certain product or service online it pops up in advertisement on different websites you visit?

Who is tracking my movements? I even started getting mail for stuff I searched on google. Weird.

  • Um yes. Advertisers can access your cookies & web history. Ever notice if you post something on FB an advertisement relating to it pops up on the next click? Creepy.

  • No but obviously there is a better way of letting somebody know it though. thanks for being such a sweetheart but what else would I expect from someone who answers anon to a simple question?

  • You have to set your privacy settings really high, and select the option to delete history automatically. Even then, I'm not sure you're 100% safe from ads. Cookies are an internal list of EVERYTHING you've done on your computer.

  • Yep, it's because your computer stores your cookies. If you don't want that to happen, use In Private browsing.
