I know my DD has a fever...

However, does our child's temperature go up when they are sleeping? I hate to wake my daughter to give her medicine and I was wondering how high her temperature actually was. My thermometer says 102.5 right now, but if I woke her it would probably go down right?

  • If she is wrapped in blankets then yes it would go down once she was no longer al wrapped up. If she is not covered then that could be pretty accurate...

  • If she's sleeping let her sleep. That is actually the best "medicine" for a sick ANYBODY.

  • No, her temp won't go down just because you wake her up. 102.5 means take her to the doctor or clinic in the AM. If she wakes up give Tylenol and a likewarm bath.
