Freedom Riders on PBS

Did any of you watch the PBS 2 hour special onPBS tonight? Thoughts?
I remember reading about this years ago but I had forgotten how evil a few of the white men in Alabama were....Bull Connor,in particular. Pure evil.
How anyone could be that cruel to a whole bunch of people only because of their skin color is a mystery to me. AND cruel toward the white peope who were only trying to help the black victims. It was sickening, but a valuable program.I only hope Americans have learned to be better human beings since those days in the early 1960's.

  • This is a perfect example of ignorant people'. What is different to people or unknown is a issue to these people. Fear of the unknown causes some ignorant people to react in a violent manner. A sense to protect them self's against the unknown.

  • I don't have to watch it, I lived it. My husband and I marched with our black friends. Also met and shook hands with MLK in Chicago.
