What's your big story today?

In Metro Detroit we're mourning the loss of Detroit 1-8-7. I never watched it (and could care less that it's cancelled) but the city where i live was mentioned a number of times on the show.

The other story is that the Troy library won't be closed. It's not my library but I'm glad.

  • NEArkansas.."Mock quake drill gets crews ready"--our town, Jonesboro, sits on the New Madrid fault..we're always waiting for the next big one to shake us!
and of course, the floodings are still a big problem. tons of agriculture/farming has been ruined because of flooding..its a huge negative impact on our area, financial and otherwise. luckily, we've only 'lost' two persons. i don't think Memphis has has deaths, but i could be wrong. again, more negative financial hardship due to their flooding, also. (we're less than an hour 'up the road'.)

  • Our big news for the area is one of our teenagers died at football practice. He was 16. The community is mourning his loss by flying our flags half staff.

  • SC House is going to vote (again) tomorrow on whether Amazon should be allowed to not collect sales tax from SC residents. They already voted "no" to this a few weeks ago, but some dumbasses--I mean, esteemed legislators--thought Amazon was bluffing when they said they'd stop production...even though precedent clearly shows otherwise.

We have wild asparagus all over, and my elderly neighbor lady has a huge plot of it she doesn't eat. It's been growing there since he dad planted it years ago. We have ramps (leaks) all over too.

  • Thousands dine at Texas' first In-N-Out Burger restaurants

yeah, things aren't real interesting around here.  LOL.  They had valet parking and people camping out two days before the opening last Wednesday.  IDK, I just can't get behind a burger with that sort of passion.  The drive through line was 150 deep when they opened at 10 a.m.  I guess I will have to look to Dallas to give me more interesting headlines.
